While it is true that we probably cannot give financial security itself, we can allay their fears about it by giving information about appropriate housing and other necessities if they become disabled or enter their retirement years. We can also create a plan to pass their hard-earned assets on to their families when they die, and avoid being forced out of their homes if a spouse must go into a nursing home. By providing community resources assistance and help planning for the disabled, our practice serves much like a disability and elder-issues "clearinghouse" for the community. We integrate all areas of the law and the community issues that affect the elderly and the disabled throughout the East Alton area. In our thirty years of practice, we have kept up with the programs of governmental agencies and non-profit organizations that are designed to assist people but sometimes need a little "push" to get things right.
